This style hoodie looks like a jumper “added” a hat, which appeared in the late 1930s. Before this, there was no such form of clothing, and when people needed to keep their heads warm, it was natural to sew hats on top of their turtle necks. They were called “Attached Hood Parka,” but by the late 1950s, these “Attached Hood Parka” had largely disappeared with the advent of new standard hoodies.
